I've always loved the soft rounded landscapes of the Appalachian foothills, but it has only been during the last few years that I have seriously tried to render the beauty I percieve there. This image doesn't portray any particular place, but it does draw on the memory of three big mimosa trees that grew in the front yard of Ye Olde House. At some point a blight came through and killed most of them, and since that time they have never grown as big.
